Listen Now 💜 Ep 9: Serial Killer in Panama

Hey Witches,

Are you ready for another episode of True Crime Travelers?

Today's case takes place in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Which is weird because Panama is known as a super safe country.

According to Numbeo, as of mid-2024, Panama’s crime index is 42.9, which is lower than neighboring countries like Costa Rica and Colombia. Common crimes include robbery, purse snatching, pickpocketing, and theft from automobiles. Violent crime is less frequent, and tourists are rarely targeted...and there certainly aren't serial killers on the loose.

That's right, today's case is our first serial killer case...

But if you've been listening to our episodes,
you'll notice that the majority of the deaths of travelers are done at the hands of friends or other travelers. This case is no different.

Episode 9:

Destination: Bocas del Toro, Panama

Imagine a tropical paradise where solo travelers turn to expats, living under the sun as digital nomads, business owners or retirees. Until one day, an expat serial killer arrives. Enter William “Wild Bill” Holbert—a man who used charm and deceit to lure his victims in, only to rob and murder them.

At the end of his stay, there would be a least 5 confirmed humans and one dog deceased.
